I would use [Capacities](https://jolanglinais.notion.site/Capacities-8114d98cee48496db5c6b3c67c4976d8) for everything if I were to start from scratch again. They are independent, more focused on individuals, and just a better fit for me. However, they have essentially no functionality for project management, so picking between the two still needs consideration. [Notion](https://jolanglinais.notion.site/Notion-567f042172ec4ed3825dcb7ed5312bbd) is more enterprise focused, and I think are spreading themselves too thin.

This loosely utilizes the Methodologies above.

The idea is to have at least three main databases:

  1. (or notes), where all notes, diaries, bookmarks, thoughts, files, papers, literally everything is stored.
  2. , where any time based event, task, or project is tracked.
  3. , where categories and concepts are stored in order to link all other databases together through relational fields.
  4. Optional: Specific related database(s), such as , , or that will consistently have different and/or specific metadata that would pollute and complicate the Zettelkasten/notes database.

allow linking, filtering, and categorizing ideas and notes. Metadata within the allows for further relation, filtering, and organizing. But these can be done after the note taking has occurred.

So, while regular maintenance of the structure and efficiency of and metadata will certainly be of great use, it is not necessary to just jot down notes, reminders, ideas, etc.

This also allows for notes to be as small and ephemeral as desired, or as structured and rigorous as needed. This is merely a framework to start from, and further customization can surely be implemented.
